AKVIS Noise Buster is a really easy-to-use piece of software. An interesting fact about it is the fact that it tackles the noise problem by making a difference between luminance noise and color noise. Other programs usually reduce noise without offering the possibility of making different settings for each type of noise intended to be processed. Settings can also be made where improving details and choosing the appearance of edges are concerned.
When comparing the before and after images, one can see that the utility does its job pretty well. A photo with very strong noise will not look very realistic after processing though, but that is to be expected.
AKVIS Noise Buster is a piece of software useful to those who care about details in the look of their photos and who like to make particular settings when correcting each flaw of an image. However, they would probably prefer having its features included in a photo editor that performs several other tasks aside from correcting noise, therefore they might prefer testing the plug-in instead of the stand-alone version.
